How do you stop your baby from growing up?
THEN
NOWZake is now 6 1/2 months old now and he is growing up right before my eyes! In the past two weeks, Zake has learned to get up on his hands and knees and rock forward, sit up unassisted, had his first taste of baby food, figured out how to scream when he is upset, had his first bath in the bath tub, and has gotten his two, front bottom teeth. While these milestones are exciting and fun, I am sad at the knowledge that he is morphing from my tiny little baby boy into a moving, eating, babbling little man.

Trick or Treat

Halloween 2009 was a success! We had lots of fun picking out pumpkins, painting and carving pumpkins and scoring lots of yummy goodness. A few months ago Savy, Brig and a few of their cousins planted pumpkins in Papa Hirschi's garden to get ready for the pumpkin season, unfortunately the bugs got to the plants before we could harvest them. So sneaky Papa bought some great pumpkins and replaced the less fortunate ones! Savy and her cousin Hope painted pumpkins together and had a blast. Brig had fallen asleep on the way to Papa's garden so he painted his pumpkin later at home, while Peter and Savy carved a Jack-O-Lantern out of Zake's pumpkin. The day before Halloween, Savy's preschool had a carnival and trunk or treat. The whole class sang the parents spooky songs they had learned, decorated cookies, played games, painted pumpkins and trunk or treated out of the parents' cars. On the big day, we got all of the kids dressed up and went trunk or treating in Peter's parents neighborhood, our church parking lot and then finished the night making the rounds in our own neighborhood!

Good times, good times!

My BFF came to visit me and mi familia this last weekend! Holly and I have been friends since we were 12 years old. Despite me stealing her monopoly money at a mutual friends house the first time we met and bugging her to no end in our honors classes, we ended up becoming best freinds and have been ever since!

Me, my Mom and Holly
Favorite memories of the three of us - couch volleyball, mall excursions, pennies thrown out of the car, and the ESP ice cream sleep over!!
Holly and Zake - she could make him laugh so hard and she loved his cuddles( and yes that is Peter in the background playing Xbox)
Holly and Brig (they had a love hate relationship) Brig would give her hugs out of nowhere but when asked if he liked Holly he would say sternly "NO" then at the airport to drop Holly off he kept sayin "NO HOLLY BYE"
Holly modeling Hair by Savy Savy told Holly she loved her in the first five minutes of us arriving home from the Vegas airport!
Holly's first experince on a plasma/wiggle car. She loved it - if you can't tell from her expression!( maybe it's a little fear - they really get going fast down hill!)
Holly is no longer a Vegas buffet virgin or a Cafe Rio virgin either
( who would of thought that a trip to Utah could be so sinfully delishious!)
Thanks again Holly for taking time out of your busy life to bring laughter and fun up here to Utah! We love you, miss you and I can't wait till I can visit you and your wonderful fam!

Hirschi Boys can sleep anywhere
Awhile back, Peter posted some random pics of the odd places Brig has fallen asleep. Apparently Zake is going to be a lot like his older brother because today I found him asleep in his jumper. The funny thing is that Brig did the same thing when he was only a few weeks younger than Zake is now. So here are Zake and Brig asleep in the same jumper - see if you can figure out who is who!

I love my boys!!
